Tank controls are the solution to how to keep a player going the correct way when a game requires static camera position for atmosphere, like in a horror game.

Death threats
Rape threats
Blowing up schools
Meanwhile, let's see the threats from the anti-GG side:

So on one side you've got very real threats of physical coercion, murder and mass murder. On the other you've got petty stereotype jokes, whatever sending a syringe is supposed to mean and mild accusations. Which side do you really think is worse?

I think it's great whenever someone is speaking out for a good cause even when they face harassment, threats, conspiracy theories, and even physical danger.

My opinion: "no".
If death threats, shopped into porn, reported to the police, etc. are considered the criteria for "bravery", then a lot of EVE players are "brave". The bastard who choked his cat until /b/ brought their collective shitstorm on him is "brave".
Death threats aren't justified, but speaking out and riling up a bunch of people behind computer screens isn't act of bravery, that's "an average day in 4chan".
